Praying Mantis.

I love the Praying Mantis. They are so cute, well, as cute as insects can get. They have these huge heads attached to such a small neck. They watch you and your movements so you know they are seeing you. Had one outside the kitchen window and couldn't help but grab my camera and start taking photos. Such a sweet little guy.

St. Joe, Lake Michigan.

My last trip to St. Joe Michigan. I was surprised to find such a gorgeous sunset. The waves were just rolling in. There were even surfers and I can't blame them. It's very unusual for the lake to have this big of waves when it's warmer.

Hot Air Balloon Time!

I've always been fascinated by hot air balloons. They used to go over my house when growing up and I'd run out and wave at the people riding. They always hollered back and waved. Sometimes, if I was lucky, they would land in the field right behind my home. Watching them be brought to life is in itself half the fun now that I'm older. The fighting of the winds if there is any. The way the crew works together to get it inflated and finally upright. I think I'll continue to be fascinated. 1 day I will make it out to New Mexico to see that balloon festival, but for now I'll enjoy the local ones.

State Fair!

The Indiana State Fair happens every August. We usually go when my step daughter visits, but unfortunately this year - she's not here. She was missed greatly. Had the best weather we have ever had going. About 80 degrees and a nice breeze - could not beat it. And with some of my photographs displayed, how could I not enjoy it. Huge Lego display of the Indy 500. It was amazing So were the other Lego displays. It was also the Year of The Cow! Very good time at the Indiana State Fair!

Gourds!

My birdhouse gourds are coming in. They are so cute! Also my one and only pumpkin. I might get some more pumpkins, but for now it's just one. I have lots of the birdhouse gourds growing - oh, the crafting projects I can do with those. Can't wait till fall.

The rain!

I am very happy to finally having it rain here. It's been a long few months without much. The downside of having this rain is the pressure it has created in my watermelons. They are starting to split, but that is what is going to happen when it's been 100+ degrees for days on end with no rain and then all of a sudden it's rainy and just at 70 degrees.  I still have a few dozen left so keeping an eye on them.

Little treasures are all around.

I love photography! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't take a photo of something. Be it a funny saying I see or a flower I pass while walking. There is always something waiting to be found that makes me say - Wow, that's awesome!  I know awesome is such a very well used word. It's my favorite, though. Here is a photo I took a few days ago. There is this huge tire resting against the barn wall. Some days - well most days - I think it needs moved, but the other day it caught me in a different view. Who would've known. Life is like that sometimes. It just takes viewing it a different way to have it appear awesome. www.flickr.com/photos/tracygrounds/7546063512 Have an Awesome Day!
